I will always remember the day in December of 2011, when I went to visit Jason Scritchfield, who was hospitalized at The Shepherd Center in Atlanta. I had only been there for a few moments when his mother, who kept constant vigil at his side, said, Jason, show Mr. DeMore what you can do.

Downsizing is one of those euphemisms used in the corporate world that never works out for the little guy. Hard working people lose their jobs, and those who manage to hang on end up having to do twice the work for the same dollar they were making before. Sometimes they end up working for less and being told that they should count themselves fortunate to still be gainfully employed.

It was an October day in 2009 when my Saturn dealer telephoned from Atlanta. I had been dealing with him for years; Luanne and I had purchased 9 vehicles from him over the course of about 20 years. He was calling to remind me that the Saturn dealerships were being shut down as part of the restructuring of General Motors, and if I wanted another Saturn before it was too late, I had better hurry up...

This Sunday, April 21, there will be a benefit dinner following the 11 oclock worship hour to help defray the cost of Lydia and Beckys mission trip to Kenya. You have already heard much about this, but today I want to add my voice, and my support, to the work they are about to do.
